Glow plug warning
A common car light symbol on the dashboard of diesel-powered vehicles is the Glow Plug Indicator – it comes on when the engine’s glow plugs are still warming up and your engine should not be started until this light goes out – if it flashes after starting the engine, an issue has been detected and a glow plug may be defective.
Traction control Light
Wheel-speed sensors are supposed to detect when one drive wheel is spinning faster than the others — meaning the vehicle is slipping or losing traction. … When the traction control warning light stays on, that means you aren’t getting any help from the system to control traction and the system needs to be checked.
Engine Warning Light
The engine management light is set within the instrument cluster on your car’s dashboard. The technicians will be able to connect a laptop to your car’s On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) port, and they can download codes from the ECU that are created when a fault occurs.
ABS Warning Light
ABS stands for anti-lock braking system (ABS) and helps the tyres on your vehicle to maintain contact with the road while you are braking. If the warning light comes on while you are driving, it means the ABS is not working properly.
Service Required Light
The service required light is mainly used to remind drivers when it is time to change the oil and filter but could be used for other fluids or components. On older cards this lightis like the check engine light and could mean that a fault has been detected by the system.
Battery warning light
The battery light indicates a battery charging problem. If the battery light comes on and stays on while you are driving, the most common cause is a broken alternator belt. Total failure of the alternator is another possibility. Get it checked out before the battery fails and your car dies.
Airbag Warning Light
If your airbag has been deployed and has not been properly reset, the airbag light will be on. If the airbag hasn’t been deployed, the light will come on when the system senses that it cannot activate the airbag; this means that there is some sort of a problem with the airbag system in your vehicle.
EPS Light Warning
The EPS light shows a problem with the electronic power steering system and you may also get the check engine light coming on. When a problem is detected in with ESP, the power steering warning light comes on. One common problem with your vehicle is a faulty power steering control module (PSCM).
Exterior light warning
When a bulb goes out, the overall resistance in the circuit changes, which then affects the voltage for that circuit. The computer monitors the circuits for all of the exterior lights for any changes in voltage and then displays a warning light.
